LAKE TAHOE IN SUMMER
With average July high temperatures of 79° and sunshine almost every day, Lake Tahoe is a summer destination for over a million people. Because of it's depth - an average of 1,000 ft deep with the deepest point being 1,636 ft deer - Lake Tahoe never gets bathwater warm but in August the average temperature at the surface of the lake is 65° - 70°F.
There are no shortage of water related activities in the Tahoe area. Sailing, power boating, kayaking, scenic boat tours, fishing, & scuba diving are some of the more popular activities.
In addition to water activities there are numerous campgrounds throughout the area and hundres of miles of hiking trails available including the Tahoe Rim Trail which circles the lake. If you're into either mountain biking or road biking there are trails and designated bike lanes throughout the region. If rock climbing is your things there are several areas to go climbing.
There are numerous merchants throughout the area that offer products and services to help you get the most of your summer Tahoe vacation.
