LAKE TAHOE BACKPACKING
For those wanting the complete nature experience, Lake Tahoe offers great backpacking hikes all around the Lake Tahoe Basin. The Forest Service publishes hiking information and breaks down trails by location and distance. It is recommended that you carry the 10 Essentials with you at all times when hiking.
Depending on the location you may be required to obtain an overnight wilderness camping permit. More detailed information for trip planning can be obtained from either the Forest Service or at the Visitor Center.
